12.15.10 New Snow Today

The warm weather and rain has melt some of the snow over the last 7 days. The temperature dropped yesterday and brought in about a foot of new snow to the Heavenly North area. We are expecting more snow over the next 5 days. Should be great skiing over the Holidays.

If you are moving to Tahoe we have an unfurnished long term rental available 1.8.11. It is located 5 minutes from the Stagecoach Lift and 8 minutes from the Boulder Lift. Visit our Long term rentals page for more information.

11.11.10 Heavenly Pass Benefits with Purchase of Northstar

Wondering what benefits your Heavenly Season Pass gets you now that Vail purchased Northstar? Here is a link showing what benefits you get with each pass Vail sells.. The information suggests the Heavenly Season Pass gets us on free this season at Northstar and Sierra.

10.7.10 Heavenly North Area Gets 6" of New Snow

Six inches of snow fell yesterday (10.7.10) in the Heavenly North area. So far this fall/winter we have seen a dusting or two, but this was the first real accumulation of snow to start the 2010-2011 ski and snowboard season.

Vail Buys Northstar

Here is info on what Vail has been doing over the last 6 months. I thought we were supposed to be in a recession. I think it is great news Vail is choosing to invest right now. And even better news for us is they are investing in the Lake Tahoe area. Keep in mind we have not seen how they will take advantage of the hole in the ground next to the casinos. I bet Vail will own and develop the entire project.

12.7.09 New Snow

New snow continues to fall in South Lake Tahoe. Here is a picture showing the amount of snow that has fallen today from the current storm.

As you can see the tape measure shows +/- 21 inches.

These pictures are taken from a unit located next to the Stageocach Lift at Heavenly Mountain Resort at the 7000 foot elevation level. More storms are predicted for the rest of the week so skiing should really improve starting today.

Heavenly Mountain Resort Epic Pass

First Snow of 2009-2010 Ski & Board Season

September 30, 2009

When does the first snow fall in Lake Tahoe?

First snow of the season fell last night. I understand it is not much, but it helps get you thinking about the upcoming season. I live at 7500 feet near the Stagecoach Lift at Heavenly Mountain Resort in the Heavenly North area. We normally see more snow in this area than you would find at lake level.
Here is a picture of the lower part of the Stagecoach Run at Heavenly.
