Nevada sideHeavenly Mountain Upgrades 2011-2012Here is a picture of the new trail cut this summer (2011) on the Nevada side of Heavenly Mountain Resort. The trail starts above this location at the Stagecoach Lift and will work down (and to the right in the picture) to the Galaxy Lift. I am impressed with how the hills frame in the picture of the valley. Now just add snow.

Heavenly Mountain Resort Boulder Lift and LodgeThere are two access points on the Nevada side of Heavenly Mountain Resort (Stagecoach Lift/Lodge and Boulder Lift/Lodge). I recommend the Boulder Lift and Lodge for all beginner skiers/snowboarders. The Boulder Lift/Lodge area has food and drink, ski school, rentals and the Magic Carpet(for beginners). You can access the entire mountain from the Boulder Lift and it is a very easy to get to the brand new Olympic Chair from this access point.
Still No Boulder LiftI was hearing rumors the Boulder Lift would open today... but this is not true according to the website this morning for Heavenly Mountain Resort. Maybe it will open on Sunday??? Just another ski day wasted because my Heavenly pass has blackout days over the Holidays. I would have been bummed had this most recent storm brought 2 feet of fresh snow and I was sitting out because of the blackout days. I should just spend another $200 or so and buy the pass without blackout restrictions? Maybe next year.
