12.18.10 South Lake Tahoe Snow Storm

The storm brought over 20 inches of new snow to the Heavenly North area yesterday and last night. The weather was around 32 degrees for the first round of this current storm so I knew the powder would be wet.

I was able to load the Stagecoach Lift first thing this morning and immediately went to the Comet Lift to see if the snow was better on top (most of the mountain was on wind hold). Unfortunately, all of the new powder was very, very heavy. I am not complaining about fresh powder, but this is the heaviest powder I can remember at Heavenly Mountain Resort. Any fresh powder is better than no fresh powder.

More snow is on the way today and tomorrow.
