Big Snowfall Year, But CA Skier Visits down 12%

The article suggests even though this was a top 5 year for snowfall the resorts in California are reporting a 12% decline in skier visits. The main reason for the decline is the big storms took place.... at the wrong time(s). Most storms seemed to arrive just before or during weekend days. This made for difficult roads and miserable skiing and boarding experiences.
