A Ski Lease in the South Lake Tahoe area refers to a lease of a ski condo/cabin/house for 3-6 months during the winter season. Often, groups from work or school will be created to split the costs of a Ski Lease. These groups will create rental usage rules, who gets what bedroom/bathroom and how to deal with guests etc... Ski Leases usually start in November and end in late April. Now is the time to put your group together and secure your Ski Lease.

*****Be very careful who you are sending your money to (especially when joining a Ski Lease group on Craigslist). I have heard of a few scams where one person says they are securing a place...the rest of the group sends this point person money and soon the entire group finds out the point person is gone, all of the money is gone and they do not have a unit leased for the ski season. You can always ask to see the lease agreement and call the landlord/owner/management company directly to verify everything.
