Tahoe Rim Trail - Big Meadow to Kingsbury Pictures

Yesterday I finished the 22.8 mile Tahoe Rim Trail hike from Big Meadow to Kingsbury. This hike is out the door and in the backyard of where I live so access to the trailhead is very easy. If you want to change your lifestyle and put the Tahoe Rim Trail in your backyard contact me for available rental units or click Launch Lake Tahoe Long Term Rental for more info.

This is a great hike with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley. Very little shade so best to do this hike when there are some clouds in the sky. Started the hike at Big Meadow at 7am and finished the hike at Stagecoach at 4pm. It was a tough and long hike for me in 80+ degree heat. First people I saw was 13.5 miles in so you are out there by yourself. Highlight of the hike was a 30 min stop at Star Lake which is about 14 miles in from the Big Meadow Trailhead or 9 miles from the Stagecoach Trailhead.

The Tahoe Rim Trail goes through Heavenly Mountain Resort so if you spend time skiing or boarding Heavenly you might recognize Killebrew Canyon, Mott Canyon and the Stagecoach Lift and Run. Believe me the runs look much different in the summer. Once you see the terrain in the summer without snow you might think twice about going down them next winter.
Here is a summer picture of the 3 main chutes in Mott Canyon (Additional Mott Canyon Summer Pictures).
