Big Meadow to Echo Lakes Trail Info

Just finished the Big Meadow to Echo Lakes 17.5 mile leg of the Tahoe Rim Trail (Tahoe Rim Trail Website). Goal is to hike and the entire 165 miles of the Tahoe Rim Trail using day hikes to complete each of the 8 legs (165 Mile Club). This hike has great views of rock peaks and lakes, but only one decent shot of Lake Tahoe.

During our hike I crossed other day hikers along with some thru hikers who plan to be on the trail over 2 weeks. While on the trail I spoke to people from Sacramento, Truckee and North Carolina. I spoke to one hiker who sent food to himself at various Post Offices around Lake Tahoe so he could access it when hiking the Rim Trail in that particular area.

I did find some snow on this leg of the TRT, but it was not in the way of the trail or where I needed to go.
