Tahoe Rim Trail - Kingsbury to Spooner Pictures

I completed the Kingsbury to Spooner leg of the 165 mile Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) on July 27, 2009. On July 22, 2009 I finished the Big Meadow to Kingsbury leg at the Stagecoach Trailhead. So, I started my hike at the Stagecoach Trailhead and headed along the 4 miles of asphalt that connects the Stagecoach Trailhead and the Kingsbury to Spooner Trailhead.

The TRT Kingbury to Spooner trail has amazing views of Lake Tahoe. It is the shortest of all the 8 legs of the Tahoe Rim Trail and is fairly flat compared to other legs. Many hikers and mountain bikers are familiar with this particular trail because of the bench that was placed about 7 miles in from the trailhead.

The bench was dedicated in 2008 by the Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe in memory of George Wilson for his 44 years of service to children and the community of Lake Tahoe.

The hike today from the Stagecoach Lift was 16 miles including the 4 miles on asphalt. There is no water on this hike, but there is a small grocery store (Tramway Market and restaurant/bar (Fox & Hound Bar and Grill) about a mile from the Stagecoach Trailhead.
