Here is an article from the USA Today which examines the most tax friendly states for businesses.  Nevada is listed at number 3 after Wyoming and South Dakota.

-The Tax Foundation’s 2014 State Business Tax Climate Index graded all 50 states based on more than 100 measures that reflect how competitive a state’s tax policies are to both large and small businesses. The report considered state income, corporate, property, sales, and unemployment insurance tax policies.

We strongly believe in Nevada’s tax structure and work to get people into real estate specifically in the Lake Tahoe area of Nevada.  The article highlights the benefits Nevada provides business, but it is important to note that individuals also benefit by having Nevada residency.  If you are looking to make a move to a more friendly tax climate (Nevada) please contact us.

Live Music On Lake Tahoe Beach

Here are some pictures from a live music event held last week on the beach at Lake Tahoe.  The Lakeshore Lodge and Spa puts on a free summer concert series for 200-400 people.  They set up a stage 5-10 feet from Lake Tahoe and the crowd sits on the beach so you have the water, sun and mountains as the background.  It is one of the most unique events I have seen in Lake Tahoe and something everybody must see at least once.  More information

Here is a link to to the final part of the 2013 South Lake Tahoe Firework Show. It can be very difficult finding a spot to park your car so you can watch the show. I recommend arriving early or hiking in with headlamps on a trail to watch the show. Some of the units in the Heavenly North area have views of Lake Tahoe and the fireworks. Contact us if you would like the firework shows to be part of your Lake Tahoe backyard activities.  If you want to move to Lake Tahoe, Nevada we can find you an investment property or a rental unit with great views of Lake Tahoe and the firework shows.

Getting A Swiss Mountain Dog Around

Posted by on Jul 7, 2013 in Backyard Activities, Blog, Dog Related, Why Lake Tahoe, Nevada | Comments Off on Getting A Swiss Mountain Dog Around

Her20130707-150923.jpge is a picture of how I get our 100 pound Swiss Mountain Dog around Lake Tahoe.

I had a difficult time trying to figure out how to haul our dog Sedona with us around town and on trips.  From experience, I did not want the dog in the cab because Swiss Mountain Dogs get hair all over the entire vehicle.  So, I decided to get a truck with a canopy and put the dog in the bed of the truck.  Everybody knows about heat build up in vehicles and what it can do to dogs so I was worried about finding a way to monitor the temps.  In Lake Tahoe we have potentially dangerous hot and cold temperatures.  I went to the internet for help, but did not find anything.  Some suggested and electric heating blanket for the cold weather, but no good ideas for the heat.

My solution for traveling with a dog in a truck and cap/ canopy-

I chose the SnugTop brand of cap/ canopy because of the large windows on both sides that provide good air circulation for warm days.  I removed the screen on one window so Sedona can stick his head out (seen in picture). The truck and the cap/ canopy both have sliding windows so Sedona can stick his head into the cab of the truck and get involved with the family when he wants to—-I was hoping some of the air conditioning and/or heat from the truck would go through the sliders into the canopy, but I see zero proof this is happening at all.  Lastly, I purchased a wireless thermometer from Walmart for under $10.00 to help me keep track of the temperature in the back of the cap/ canopy at all times.  The sensor is placed in the bed area of the truck  and the digital monitor device is with me in the cab.  This gives me a good estimate of what the temperature is for our dog in the bed of the truck at all times.

I hope this information can help you out.  If you have any questions please contact me.
